Weichert Relocation Resources Employees Give Back to Their Communities
11/27/2007
MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. - Employees from Weichert Relocation
Resources Inc. (WRRI), one of the world’s leading relocation and assignment
management companies, recently donated their time to support families in need
and advance community development during CommunityCare Day. Held twice a year,
CommunityCare Day is a company-wide day of volunteering that has become the
centerpiece of WRRI’s corporate giving program.
Colleagues
in WRRI’s Morris Plains, NJ office participated in a walk
to raise awareness and donations for the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish
Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical
conditions to offer them hope, strength and joy. WRRI was also one of the
corporate sponsors for this event.
Colleagues
in Houston
strapped on their sneakers and took to the streets for the Susan G Komen Race
for the Cure Breast Cancer Walk, raising money and awareness for this worthy
cause.
In Boston, colleagues
volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank, helping to sort and package over
10,000 pounds of food to be shipped to local food pantries.
Colleagues
from WRRI’s London office spent the day at the Michael Tippett School
in Kennington, assisting teenagers with severe and complex learning
disabilities. WRRI also made a donation to Camp Cando,
a charity-run camp which students from the school attend each summer, covering
the cost for two students to attend.
In Denver, WRRI colleagues spent the day weeding, planting
flowers, and restoring native habitat during River Sweep, a beautification
project spearheaded by the Denver
Parks and Recreation
Department.
Chicago colleagues teamed with DuPage PADS
Permanent Supportive Housing to help load and deliver furniture to be used in
apartments for homeless and transitional families.
Colleagues
in Calgary took
hammers in hand to help build a house for a needy family, working with the
local Habitats for Humanity chapter.
In addition
to donating their time to Halton Women’s Place, a shelter for emotionally and
physically abused women and children, colleagues from WRRI’s Toronto office also provided food, clothing
and other personal care items.
“By
embracing CommunityCare Day, our colleagues throughout the world continue to
exhibit a true passion for making a difference in the lives of others, whether
it’s a family being relocated across the country or people in need within their
own communities,” said Aram Minnetian, president of WRRI. “The success of our
CommunityCare program is attributable to our colleagues’ commitment to changing
lives and affecting positive change.”
Since its
inception, Weichert Relocation Resources has encouraged employee volunteerism
through programs such as CommunityCare Day that support two of the company’s
most prominent corporate objectives: helping families and improving
communities.
